His Uncles, Kiko and Carlos Flores, were also in a pop/country band, which played in Hotels and night clubs all around Cancun Mexico. Big Chris moved to Cancun Mexico in 1987, where his older brother, Mike Flores, played a key roll in Big Chris' early music career; which began in the Cancun Rocks night club. Soon after that, Big Chris became a prominent musician in the Cancun club/hotel scene; one of the most popular vacation spots in the world. Big Chris's first band, 50/50, was the house band for very popular night clubs and hotels, such as Tequila Boom, Tequlia Rock, the Sheraton Hotel and Oasis Hotel. At the same time, Big Chris was the guitarist and a singer for another band called Azteca, where he played reggae, cumbia, salsa and rock on a party boat called The Sun Tour every morning, six days a week.
In 1992, Big Chris Flores was arrested and deported back to California for working in Mexico without papers. Upon his arrival to California, he almost immediately began his musical education at Musician's Institute in Hollywood, California. He studied guitar there for two years, and obtained an associate degree in commercial music. Upon completion of his guitar education, he went on to study sound engineering for a year at the University of Musicians' recording institute.
Upon completion of his recording education in 1995, Big Chris went on to become an assistant engineer at Brandon's Way Recording Studio; which is Kenneth "Baby Face" Edmunds private recording studio. Here, Big Chris assisted on a number of recording projects; among them, Babyface,〔https://blacksheeppublicity.wordpress.com/2009/01/21/wisdom-biography/〕 En Vogue, Boyz II Men, Kenny Loggins, Rolling Stones, Az Yet, etc. In 1997, Big Chris went on to become chief sound engineer at ''King Pin Records'',〔http://www.moodswingrecords.net/the_man.htm〕 where he engineered for a number of rap groups, including Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and many other artists that were signed to King Pin Records.
